No matter what kind of dog you have, from a tiny Chihuahua to a very large Mastiff, every dog like a bed that they can stretch out in. Extra large dog beds are therefore something that you should consider, no matter how big your dog is. One of the best things about these large dog beds is that they can provide your animal a much more comfortable place to sleep. If you have ever watched your dog sleep, you know that they like to really stretch out all that they can. New beds come from factories and stores that may have smells your dog won’t be used to. By putting the new bed under the old one, the familiar smells will transfer and your pooch will soon be ready to make the transition.

Another way of getting your dog to accept a new larger doggie bed is to place both beds side by side. This way, the smells can transfer from one bed to the other and your dog can inspect the other bed to see if they like it. If none of those work for you, you can always just teach your dog to accept the new bed. In all honesty, it really shouldn’t be that hard because an extra large dog bed is one of the best ways to make your dog more comfortable. There are even large outside dog beds for those animals that are not “house dogs.” But don’t think that that doesn’t mean they aren’t pampered because many of these large beds for dogs are raised above the ground and feature canopies to keep the animal in the shade at all times.

Larger dogs are more affected by the heat than smaller dogs, and if you have a dog that is a darker color or is older, they will be even more affected. Having a raised extra large dog bed with a sun shade is an easy way to keep them cool and comfortable when the temperature starts to rise. Again, there are so many choices when it comes to large beds for dogs, that there should be no problem finding the perfect match for your animal and your home.
